GNU Ghostscript (v2.6.2 or less) is not "64-bit clean",
whereas Aladdin Ghostscript (v3.33) is, and builds (cc, haven't
tried gcc) and works OK on my Alpha clone running OSF/1 V3.2b.
Both GNU and Aladdin are available at ftp.cs.wisc.edu:~/pub/ghost
I should point out that the license for Aladdin Ghostscript
is more restrictive than the GNU license, as
ftp.cs.wisc.edu:~/pub/ghost/README says in part:
Ghostscript is now distributed in two different versions, with two
different licenses. The current version with the GNU License is in
the gnu subdirectory; the current version with the new Aladdin
Ghostscript Free Public License is in the aladdin subdirectory. The
Aladdin version will typically be about a year more recent than the
GNU version; however, the Aladdin license, unlike the GNU license,
prohibits all commercial distribution (unless you get a commercial
license from Artifex Software Inc., which is currently the only entity
authorized by Aladdin to grant such licenses.) For more information,
please read the file commprod.doc in the aladdin directory. For a
copy of the Aladdin license, see the file PUBLIC in aladdin directory.
