netstat -r results in two netmasks?

Can anyone tell me why, when I issue a "netstat -r" I get the following output?

Routing tables
Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Interface
Netmasks:
Inet 255.255.0.0
Inet 255.255.255.0

Route Tree for Protocol Family 2:
<stuff deleted>

I want to keep the Inet 255.255.255.0 line, but don't want the 255.255.0.0
entry.

Yes, ifconfig reports an 0xffffff00 netmask.
