OSF-Managers,

We have got a DEC 3000-300 (OSF/1, v 2.0) in which the process with pid# 0
gradually 'swallows' all system memory. For instance, ps axu gives

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TT S STARTED TIME COMMAND
            ...
userXXXX 428 92.0 0.3 5.55M 216K ?? R N Aug 13 1-16:01:59 be10.exet
root 0 0.0 51.6 259M 32M ?? R < Aug 13 3:36.72 [kernel idle]
            ...

>From 5 to 5 days we have to reboot the machine because it becomes out of memory.
Does anybody know what is going on? This particular machine is not used too
much. There is frequently only one Fortran application running in it (pid 428 in
this case), that is also running in other alpha box without causing trouble.

TIA,
