RGB monitor for AlphaServer 2100

Hi all,
        Can anyone help ...

We have an AlphaServer 2100 purchased with a 14inch Digital monitor
(purchased against our advice, the monitor that is!). The monitor is
non-interlaced but quite a poor picture, and to cap it all it has developed
a fault in the horizontal positioning which will necessitate replacement.

We also have a 17inch (about 15inch visible size) Trinitron (again
Digital badged) which is currently residing on an old DECstation, montior
model number VR297-D3. Does anybody know if this can be driven by the
QVision controller in the AlphaServer and if so what kind of contortions
must I go through. I know I'll have to get new leads (ie. 15 pin VGA/SVGA
-> 3 x RGB BNC's), but will the monitor sync OK.

Any advice or help appreciated, I'll summarise anything useful to
the list!!
