Hello All,
I am trying to obtain the subset UDWSER425 (Window server for Ultrix 4.2A)
in order to be able to deinstall this same subset on a DECstation 3100
and then reinstall it. I posted this to alpha-osf-managers in addition
to decstation-managers because many alpha owners also have old decstations.
This DECstation 3100 is really mostly being used as an X terminal and
to access an ancient disk. Its B&W monitor recently died and we put a
color monitor on it, but we need to do something so that system can
support color on the new monitor. We tried doing a
setld -c UDWSER425 INSTALL and switching the choice to color, but
that did not work. So now we'd like to try setld -d and then reinstall
with setld -l and choose color. When we type /usr/bin/X11/xdpyinfo
we see we still have only one plane, etc. at this point. If anyone
has any other suggestions of how to have this system see its color
monitor as color (instead B&W) (Ultrix 4.2A), I'd love to hear from
him/her... Thanks!
