It would be more that it's the only stable combination with ADVFS.

Summary

1) ADVFS and Mirroring using the advanced version of LSM not only work well
together, but they are pretty close to mandatory if your're going to retain
your sanity;-)

2) ADVFS has performance problems when storing lots of little files, but
that can be improved considerably by frequent use of the online
defragmenter, and setting a large size for the metadata extent.

3) Most of the "bad rap", to the extent it exists, against ADVFS is caused
because the filesystem is touchier than UFS filesystems to hardware disk
problems, and disk problems frequently create system crashes.

 4) LSM mirroring can let you "ride out" such hardware problems and keep
you running when an unmirrored ADVFS would crash and burn.

5) LSM documentation should be in the System Management Volume.

I think I've got it now, but if any of the folks who replied want to
clarify anything feel free to email.
