Hi,
Near to our University our friends have a boot problems. They have a
DEC 200(??) WS. A few days ago after erasing some files from usr dir
(but I don't thing from usr ) the machine had some problems in booting.
When you want to boot just by "boot" it gives the following messages.
Halt CPU 0
HALT code=5
Halt instructions executed
PC = 2000030
I tried booting in single user mod by "boot -fl s" ( also boot -fl "" ) etc.
but nothing changed. They have some html docs. in their user dirs. and
don't want to lose them. First of all is it possible to boot this machine
and back to normal ? If not, is it possible to re-install the operating
system without loosing the /usr/users ?
They use V3.2 UFS.
If you give any clue I will be gratefull.
