The new item I learned was that DEC provides a PAK called bookbrowser
that allows dxbook to read the books for products that you may not have
PAKs for. I found this on my ULTRIX Consolidated Documentation CDROM
and got it to install onto my DECstations. I can now read the Guide to
DECthreads (copied off of the OSF/1 CDROM) on my DECstations. However,
the same PAK would not work on my Alpha stations, and I don't have a
Consolidated Documentation CDROM for OSF/1 so I could not find the Alpha
version of the bookbrowser PAK. I also could not find a bookbrowser PAK
on either my OSF/1 CDROm nor the OSF/1 LP CDROMs.
Selden suggested that the DECthreads library is used to support DCE, so
I installed my DCE Development and Run Time Services PAKs onto my
Alpha/OSF system to see if I could read the DECthreads book. Nope.
Well, at least I am now able to read them on my DECstations.
thanks again for all your help.

PS: If anyone has a copy of the bookbrowser script for OSF/1 AXP
systems, or knows where to get a copy, please let me know.
