Secure Interoperation of Suns and DEC UNIX

I have a requirement to run a secure NIS or NIS+ type heterogeneous domain
consisting of Suns and Alpha/DEC Unix systems.

The Sun systems can run SunOS or Solaris as their primary role is as NFS
servers. The Alpha systems will be running DEC Unix 3.2.

Either the Sun or the DEC systems can be the NIS or NIS+ servers, so an
NIS+ client for DEC Unix would be a viable solution, for example.

Is there a NIS+ port to OSF? Can the two vendors secure NIS products
interoperate? Does anyone know of a third-party product which can act in
place of NIS to distribute password and account information in a secure
fashion between these platforms.

Just to clarify, plain NIS/Yellow Pages will not meet this requirement, at
least not as shipped without additional "hardening" by a C2 type of
package.

I have a call in to DEC, but so far they feel that there is no way to do this.
