Does anyone have a /etc/printcap entry that works in the following scenario?
I have a pathworks v5 installation running under Digital UNIX on an alpha
3000-600. I am trying to setup LAT printing capabilities to the parallel
printers attatched to the Pathworks clients. I have started LAT on both
the server and the PC. I have added a service to lpt1 in LATCP on the PC,
setup my service and server as preferred services and restarted LAT on the
PC. I have defined a LAT device on the server to point to the PC printer
service and setup a queue, class and share on the server pointing to the
LAT device.
The problem:
I can print a text file on the server to the queue and it works great. I
can get into WordPerfect on the PC and print a file that contains text and
a graphic and the text looks great but the graphic, although recognizable,
is trashed.
I have played with different settings in the printcap but there are just
too many possibilities and most of what I have tried have made no difference
in the output.
I will also be looking at using CLISPOOL and would appreciate any notes
anyone has on setting this up on both the client and a Unix/Pathworks server.
