Ada compiles hang

Hello managers.

I have a situation which occurs, and I don't know how to go about finding
more information. This situation occurs on several versions of the OS
(3.0, 3.2a, 3.2b). The Ada compiler version is 3.2. The info I get from
users is

>The last two times i kicked of a large recompile, this happened:
>The compile starts out fine, and the machine load jumps up and down during
>the compile.
>After about 5 hours or so, the load evens out to EXACTLY 1,
>the compile doesn't seem to make much progress, and there is no disk
>activity.

This does not appear to be dependent on the module being compiled
(happens for various libraries). Top shows the adacom process to be
getting 70 - 90 % of the CPU, but nothing seems to be happening.

Anyone have any idea on how to go about trying to find where the compiler
is looping? Might we be running out of a resource (e.g. open files) which
might be checked?

Any clues will be rewarded ( by seeing your name in a summary). Sorry,
that's the best I can offer. :)
