How to play back mpeg2 movies on a DEC Alpha?

Hi experts,

Does anyone know how to play back mpeg2 movies on a DEC Alpha? The usual
mpeg_play found in mpeg_play-alpha.tar.Z does not appear to work on mpeg2
movies. I have also tried building mpeg2play from the mpeg2play_v1.1b
distribution, but the resulting executable cannot play the test file tennis.m2v
provided in the distribution. I'm at a loss. Can anybody help?
