Dear managers:
Is anyone using an 8" floppy drive to read floppies. We have an old
Microvax which has a 8" floppy drive from SMS Corporation (no longer in
business I believe) which we use to read in data from 2 of our portable
Nuclear Medicine GE cameras. If I can find a way to read them on our
Alpha OSF/1 Machine or our DEC/WS I can rid ourselves of VMS and the
service contract on our aging Microvax. We have really no other way
to read in data except via floppy.
If you do, what means do you read a non-Unix formatted floppy? I know
several such as dd and mtools (If it is a PC-formatted GE floppy which
I don't even know at this moment because I have little documentation).
Thanks
