Hello,
The way to copy UNIX files to a floppy in MS-DOS format
is to use the 'mtools'-package. With this tool-package you can use
commands like mtype, mcopy, mdir, mdel, mformat, mlabel,
mtools can be found as or on :
ftp.eu.net:/gnu/mtools1.07.tar.gz
dec.gatekeeper.com:/pub/GNU
prep.ai.mit.edu
sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk/gnu/mtools-2.0.7.tar.gz
The package seems also to be on the freeware cd.

One way to do it is having a microcomputer running MS-DOS linked to the
network through a TCP/IP board, so that you can ftp files from a UNIX
machine. Another way is having the microcomputer linked to a terminal
server, emulating VT100 with one of several programs that do it (kermit,
Windows terminal emulator in the accessories group, PROCOMM, Smarterm,
etc.), so that file transfers can be made. In both cases you can transfer
files from/to the UNIX machine.
