My Original Questions:

>Does anyone know where I could find the specs of an DEC 2000 model 300
>AXP which deals with the following:

>a.) CPU/clock speed
>b.) cache size
>c.) SPECint92, SPECfp92, SPECrate_int92, SPECrate_fp92, DP MFLOPS
>d.) Maximum memory, disk capacity, I/O bandwidth, I/O support
>e.) Availability features

Related information with regards to the machine in detail can be found at:
(NOTE: Arrangement is according to latest information update)

One could also check for more goodies at http://www.digital.com , where
more detailed discussions about the Alpha machines is located.

Related spectables are available via anonymous ftp from
ftp.cdf.toronto.edu in the file /pub/spectable.

(A SPEC FAQ describing the SPEC benchmark suite and the SPEC consortium is
periodically posted to comp.benchmarks. It is strongly recommended that
one should read that document.)

Public benchmark results for most types of computers can be obtained via
anonymous ftp to 'ftp.nosc.mil' (128.49.192.51) in directory 'pub/aburto'.

>Also, does it support the Fast Ethernet Cards and FDDI (100 Mbps)? What
>might be some of the recommended cards that are in the market for such,
>say, like those of 3Com and others perhaps?

Dave Sinnott sez:
----------------

DEC 2000 Model 300 AXPs support EISA based FDDI card (DEFEA), both DAS
and SAS

Don't know about Fast ethernet. You would have to look in the Digital
Unix SPD (41.61.11 - V3.2C) for supported hardware.
