I need some suggestions. Price does play a factor here.
We will be getting an AlphaStation 200 4/233 to replace a DECstation 5000
Model 240. The DECstation has 32 Mb of memory. We currently support about
1200 user accounts. We normally have about 10 to 20 users logged in. I
have seen a max of about 30 or so. The new AlphaStation will come with 32
Mb of memory. I know this is not enough. The current dilemma is how far to
go. I don't feel that 64 Mb will be enough either. I would like to go to
96 or 128 Mb. Does anyone have any feel or experience for what I should
consider? The AlphaStation itself will sit in a "computer" room with no
real use of the console/monitor. I will probably have root logged in there
just for some monitoring purposes. TIA.
