SZ107 / TZ877 storage subsystem as backup on DEC Unix V3.2 Question

Hi there...

We have a SZ107 storage subsystem (a.k.a. a TK877 Magazine Tape subsystem)
for 10Gb (20Gb with compression) DLT tapes. There is a magazine that holds
up to 7 of these, and a key with four settings (Operator-Ctrl-Panel off,
Automatic, Manual, Service-Mode).

There is some documentation here (older mind you, the Unix spoken of
is just Ultrix) that suggests none of the standard backup programs,
except apparently dump, can automatically unload-current/load-next
DLT in a multi-tape backup situation. (vdump -0uf did not seem to work
for example - we are trying to do this on an ADVFS partion on a raid,
which I believe requires vdump rather than dump?)

If anyone has experience with OSF/1 (DEC Unix) and a backup program
that will automatically change the tape to continue a multi-tape
backup, especially in a similar configuration, I'd love to hear from
you, and how you do it (which program and what parameters, the setting
of the key, OCP/Automatic, etc.)

Thanks!
