making crack v4.1 run under OSF/1 v3.2

Hi. I am trying to make crack v4.1 run under OSF/1 v3.2 and I am running
into a problem with crack-fcrypt.c. This is the message I am getting as I
run Crack:

cc -O `./bytesex` -c crack-fcrypt.c
/usr/lib/cmplrs/cc/cfe: Error: crack-fcrypt.c, line 254: Syntax Error
            Ll ^= (S0L)[ *dp STEP];

And this error continues on and on for many different lines.

I have read the previous summary for running crack under OSF/1 v2.0, but
to no avail.
