Hello Managers,

my problem was that my prompt after starting a decterm appears only after
about one minute or two instead of a second or two.

I was using tcsh, version

  tcsh 6.05.00 (Cornell) 94/19/06 (alpha-dec-osf1) options 8b,nls,dl,al,rh

and i'm working from an Xterminal (that is: over the net...)

Solutions to that problem are

-> using dec's /usr/bin/csh (OSF/1 3.0 or DU 3.2C at least) or

-> working directly on the machine without any network being involved or

-> reconfiguring/remaking tcsh with REMOTEHOST in config_c.h `undef'ed

All three solutions worked for me. With the third one, i installed the newer
tcsh-6.06 from ftp.deshaw.com in /pub/tcsh and have now version

  tcsh 6.06.00 (Cornell) 1995-05-13 (alpha-dec-osf1) options 8b,nls,dl,al

Note the missing `rh' at the end of the line.
My thanks to "John P. Speno" <speno_at_swarthmore.edu> for that hint.

Now my prompt appears with the decterm most times or shortly after that
and i'm happy with that behaviour again.
