Dear Gurus,
I have installed sendmail 8.6.11 on my Dec 2100 running DecUnix 3.2B and
have some questions:
1) this version of sendmail supports ESMTP (Extended SMTP) and, therefore,
begins a session by sending EHLO instead of HELO.
Under mailx, I have no problem but dxmail fails to send any message and
says:
Post: problem initializing server [RPLY] 503
Polite people say HELO first
send: message not delivered to anyone
Looks like dxmail is not up to date? Is there a patch somewhere?
2) As I said, I have no problem ... if I am root.
However, any "normal" user can't send a message with mailx and receives this:
queuename: Cannot create "qfNAA02945" in "/usr/spool/mqueue" (euid=100):
Permission denied
Any idea?
3) More generally: dxmail opens a microscopic window with sub-microscopic
fonts. I'd like to change this, but there is no "customize window" or
something like that. Maybe I should put something in .Xdefaults?
4) Finally, I think I've seen something about it on this list, but could
not find it in the FAQ: upon moving from VMS to DecUnix, how can you
transfer the mail files without losing the "from", the "subject" and the
date? i.e., I am reluctant to painfully forward all the mails from my Vax
to the DecServer and lose all the mail headers.
Thank you for your help,
Jean-Loup
