Ok, I solved the mail problem. As many suggested it was a DNS problem. Turned
out to be a missing period in my DNS file.
However, I am still have some inverse DNS problems. I have created the files
and have verified their accuracy. Now, here is a basic question: Since I am
the primary DNS server for both the forward and inverse domain for my domain,
once the files are in place, the serial updated, and the nameserver restarted,
the effect should be immediate right? I shouldn't have to wait for any
secondary DNS right? Also, since the inverse files didn't exist before, there
shouldn't be any caching issues right?
I have done this before and am nearly certain I have done everything right. A
this point, I really need some sort of sanity check and any suggestions on what
else I might be missing.
