Serial Connection

Has anyone succeeded in setting up a direct serial connection at baud
rates above 9600 to an alphastation from a pc? By inserting
the necessary lines in /etc/gettydefs and /etc/inittab I have
succeeded at 9600 but not at 19200 or 38400. I am working on a
600 5/266.
