Strange chgrp problem

Hi,

Platform: Digital Alpha 3000/300, 400; Digital Unix 3.2; the YP server
is a Digital Mips Ultrix 4.2A system

Problem: Users can't chgrp their own files located on a file system
NFS mounted from a Digital Mips Ultrix 4.2A system (user root
can). The chgrp error message is

                chgrp: file: Not owner

They can do other things on their files of that file system. They
can surely chgrp their files located on Digital Unix file systems,
         local or NFS mounted.

Question: Is this behavior normal? Is there a way around this?

Thank you.
