Hi,
My original question was ;
I want to form a immaginary discussion-list locally using alias function
of sendmail. I added the following line to /var/adm/sendmail/aliases
usg:surgev, tufan, serkan, pinar // etc ..
then typed newaliases and get ;
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 20: MAILER-DAEMON: root... cannot
resolve name
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 20: illegal alias name
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 23: postmaster:balci... cannot resolve name
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 23: illegal alias name
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 24: usg:surgev, tufan, serkan, pinar,
cannot resolve name
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 24: illegal alias name
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 27: nobody: /dev/null... cannot resolve name
/usr/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 27: illegal alias name
0 aliases, longest () 0 bytes, 0 bytes total
I use sendmail-8.6.2 ( I have compiled 8.7.1 but I'dont have any
time to upgarde to it ) . Do you have any idea about that ??
Sincerely.
murat.
thanx to ;

Jim Belonis <belonis_at_dirac.phys.washington.edu>
Jack Burton <jackb_at_sparcjan.picker.com>
Paul Gosse <paulg_at_charon.ucs.mun.ca>
The reason why I get this strange behaviour is that the newaliases
we were using were /usr/sbin/newaliases and this was DEC's original
newaliases program, but this is not valid for sendmail-8.6.2 When I soft
linked /usr/sbin/sendmail to newaliases i solved the problem.
Thanx for all.
Sincerely.
murat.
