First of all, thanks:
Some days ago I sent a mail (to a different list) asking about
problems with my gcc 2.6.3. They were due to an operating system update
(from OSF1 v3.0 to OSF1 v3.2). As I could see it is a well-known problem.
I'd like to thank all the people that answered me even though it was the
wrong place to ask. Many of them told me about this list so here I am.
And now.
I've tried to 'xarchie' the new gcc version but I haven't been able
to. I suppose that our lines are too busy or something like that. The
fact is that it cannot get the whole file as it stops after the second Mb.
That's why I've had to compile the 2.6.3 version on my DEC 3000
running OSF1 v3.2c. And I've managed to, but a warning appears when I try
to compile something (more exactly when the linker works):
---------------- screen dump -------------------
/usr/bin/ld:
Warning: Linking some objects which contain exception information sections
and some which do not. This may cause fatal runtime exception
handling problems (last obj encountered without exceptions was
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/alpha-dec-osf3.2/2.6.3/libgcc.a)
---------------- screen dump end ---------------
Can I avoid this annoying message?
Thanks in advance.
