Hi,

Sorry to bother you again.

I got many responses suggestion not to export a > 2G fs to a (old) 32bit
machine. I'm not quite sure if this is really correct. The NFS client
does not know a single bit about the filesystem it is interacting with.

It merely tells the server:

        open this file (By name)
        give me some bytes
        write some bytes
        close the file
        .....
There is no information about the size of the filesystem in any of the RPC
calls I know of. The only thing I can imagine of is the file offset counter.
Since a > 2GB fs can hold files larger than 2GB, the 32 machine will have
trouble with this. But is this really the cause for my problems?

This is now just for curiosity. I already started to split the 4GB into two
2GB. I just cant wait longer and risk more data loss.

\Magnus
