Thanks to all the people who sent me helpful replies.
The consensus seems to be to wait for OSF V4.0 which will be out in early
1996 and will have several attractive features. The representative
of the company which makes the genetics software to which I
alluded stated that upgrades of OSF will be supported as they appear.
Currently they only support V3.2
One dissenting voice recommended upgrading to V3.2C now.
