Dear All,
We've been using advfs for awhile on many alpha machine. Everytime when
we try to mount the file system (after booting the system from CD),
we need to do the following:
# mkfdmn /dev/rz1c accounts_dmn
# mkfset accounts_dmn credit_fs
# mkfset accounts_dmn debit_fs
# mkdir /mnt/credit /mnt/debit
# mount -t advfs accounts_dmn#credit_fs /mnt/credit
# mount -t advfs accounts_dmn#debit_fs /mnt/debit
"The mkfdmn command creates a file domain, which is a logical construct
containing both physical volumes (disks or disk partitions) and
filesets. When you create a file domain, you must specify one volume.
Existing data on the volume you assign to a new file domain is destroyed
when the file domain is created." -- quoted from the mkfdmn man page.
Is there any way that when mounting the file system the data will NOT be
detroyed.
Thanks,
Mimi
