[Summary] panic: Machine check - Hardware error

A while ago I did post a problem concerning hardware errors. Many thanks
to Pete Hendry <y3ph_at_comunion.demon.co.uk> who suggested me that there
probably was a problem with my SIMMs.

I used his mail to convince DEC to check the crash dump and they did find
a problem with our simms. I hope less crashes will happen in the future
after replacing this bad simm :)

Thanks.

Christophe

Don't know if you sorted this yet but we have had it with 2 machines here and
with both it turned out to be faulty memory. There was some problem with a
large batch of Digital memory (64Mb packs) and they knew the problem as soon
as we gave them the serial numbers. They even swapped the memory on some
of the other servers for us (but not all - as usual they are taking the
attitude that it doesn't need replaced until it breaks even though they admit
it's faulty!).

Hope this helps.
