Hello Managers,

I have inherited DEC 3000 M600 running DU 3.2c, one of the disks is
configured as such :-

 disklabel -r rz2
# /dev/rrz2a:
type: SCSI
disk: rz26l
label:
flags:
bytes/sector: 512
sectors/track: 57
tracks/cylinder: 14
sectors/cylinder: 798
cylinders: 2570
sectors/unit: 2050860
rpm: 3600
interleave: 1
trackskew: 0
cylinderskew: 0
headswitch: 0 # milliseconds
track-to-track seek: 0 # milliseconds
drivedata: 0

8 partitions:
# size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg]
  a: 131072 0 ADVfs # (Cyl. 0 -
164*)
  b: 327680 131072 unused 1024 8192 # (Cyl. 164*-
574*)
  c: 2050860 0 unused 1024 8192 # (Cyl. 0 -
2569)
  d: 327680 131072 unused 1024 8192 # (Cyl. 164*-
574*)
  e: 327680 131072 unused 1024 8192 # (Cyl. 164*-
574*)
  f: 327680 131072 unused 1024 8192 # (Cyl. 164*-
574*)
  g: 1592108 458752 ADVfs # (Cyl. 574*-
2569*)
  h: 327680 131072 unused 1024 8192 # (Cyl. 164*-
574*)
#

/ is mounted on rz2a, rz2b is 160M of swap and /var is mounted on rz2g.

I would like to leave the root and swap partitions as they are, reduce
the size of the /var partition to around 200M and use the remainder of
the disk for a new /home filesystem.

Any advice on how to acheive this would be greatly appreicated.

P.S. What is the 'offset' ?

I will summarise.

Phil.
