Hi,
Does anyone have a good set of guidelines for establishing user default
permissions? ie umask settings to be set in .login scripts.
Also when a new user is added what determines the default dir permissions
for the user?
What determines the permissions of user created subdirectories of the user
home directory?
What determines the default system protection of 666 for executables and 777
for others?
How do you manage exceptions to the umask defaults. Has anyone written any
special scripts to handle specific application issues?
