partitions on ADVfs: to be or not to be?

I am planning on using ADVfs.
One way would be to partition the disks and create filedomains on each/some
partitions.
Another way would be to create one filedomain on the overlap (c) partition and
later break it into filesets with quotas turned on.

Is one way better than the other? Does it affect reliability, performance, etc?

Thanks,
