        Dear OSF-Managers

Here at The Bologna Astronomical Observatory we have an
Alpha Server 2000 4/275 and three alpha DEC 3000/300.

We create on the server with DMU a Diskless environment
with a Digital Unix replica and after we configure successfully the
software, then we add the three alphas as clients
(both full and partial kernel build) with
success and the satellites boots through network
and mount remotely the / and /usr file systems.

the only trouble is that LAT doesn't start with the
        following error message:

lat not build into running kernel.
        lat cannot start

we checked the options files and all seems ok,
the option lat is in the files, the lat subset is
        configured during clients first boot.

has Anyone an idea of such behaviour ?

        We will Summarize.
