Hi... I have a relatively new DEC 2000 system, running 3.2c. I've been
setting it up for a few months, and I have to bring it to school (its the
school's machine) on Monday to start its life as a net server... I
figure, it would be a good idea to have a full backup before then. I
tried to do a backup a while ago, and it seemed to work fine... I just
did one partition as a test. Today, I went to do a backup, and typed:
dump -0unf /dev/nrmt0h /
and it died because the file system was full... funny, its only a 100Mb
partition, and an empty tape... so, I poke around, and / was at 111%...
there was a huge file at /dev/nrmt0h! It turns out that none of my tape
devices are there!! I am trying to rebuild them, but I can't figure out
how you find the LUN number...
Its a TLZ06 tape drive, at (I think) ID 5, on the only SCSI bus...
Thanks in advance!
Scott
