I just built gcc 2.7.2 under 3.2. When I was compiling the first
gcc with cc, it was fine. However, when I recompiled gcc for the second
and third stage, I got errors from ld saying that some files contained
exception information and some didn't, and that this could cause a fatal
run-time error. I also tried compiling emacs 19.30 with the new gcc.
I had just compiled it without any errors with gcc 2.6.3, but I got
the ld errors from 2.7.2. On the other hand, all the stuff I compiled
with the new compiler appears to work just fine. Is there a fix for
this? Should I be worried? I hope this isn't a faq - I looked in the
archive, but didn't see anything.
Thanks,
Dan Eisenbud
