Dear Managers,
ASE provides excellent monitoring of cluster members
over the shared SCSI bus and also over the network
but I have not found a way to integrate monitoring
of the *application itself* that I am trying to failover.
In my specific case, we run Web servers on one cluster
and mail servers on another cluster. From time to time
it is possible that the server software (i.e. not the OS,
not the disks, not network but the server itself will
fail). There are many ways of detecting this such as
connecting to the port and parsing the responses.
We have developed scripts to do all of this from external
systems but have found no way to integrate this with ASE.
Have I overlooked an obvious integration method?
