Hi all,
We are thinking about installing a Wais server on one of our Unix
machines running DU 3.2C. Some people here is interested in having lots
of documents indexed so that they could ask for documents having certain
words, and queries like this. The idea of using a Wais tool arose.
Such idea consists of installing a Wais server and a client. This
way we can study the documents, and it is possible that we create an
interesting database that we can present to the world.
What happens is that I am not sure about this idea. I mean, I
don't know things like: how much does a server like this charge the
system? What about memory?
This is why I'd like to know about people with a Wais server
installed and active on their machines. Please, if it is your case,
contact me.
I promise to sumarize if something interesting arises.
