This is more of a bind question than an alpha question, but I'm running it
on an alpha...
In light of the recent CERT advisory (CA-96.02), I was playing around with
the latest version of bind. Everything seems to work with one exception. I
can't do a zone transfers of one of my zones, but I can do all the rest. Of
course, it would happen to be the more important zone that won't transfer.
I've tried twiddling with the xfrnets directive to no avail. Syslog is quiet.
Here's what's in the trace file when I try using 'ls' in nslookup:
TCP connection from [130.58.64.9].4607 (fd 8)
req: nlookup(swarthmore.edu) id 46218 type=252 class=1
req: found 'swarthmore.edu' as 'swarthmore.edu' (cname=0)
finddata(): buflen=8148
T_AXFR refused: no data
ns_req: answer -> [130.58.64.9].4607 fd=8 id=46218 size=32 Local
sqrm(0x140259310, 8) rfcnt=0
Nslookup tells me:
*** Can't list domain swarthmore.edu: Query refused
but it'll happily list my other zones if I ask it.
The server was compiled under Osf/1 1.3, and runs there too.
I'll be happy to entertain any and all ideas. Thanks.
