Dear Gurus,

Please excuse my being naive, but I'm neither a C programmer nor a DU guru
...
I meet with some problems when trying to install a package written for SUNs
(it's a rather huge package, at least in terms of the number of *.c and *.h
files...).

1) In the source code, should I remove ALL the statements such as
"long this_variable" and remove "long" in "long int that_variable"?

2) should I compile with the -xtaso_short flag?

3) the loader can't find:
   - dnet_conn
   - dnet_addr
   - getnodebyname
