We are currently running an OpenVMS machine and are contemplating converting
the machine to DEC Unix. One of the biggest problems is that several users
have usernames longer than 8 characters. Does anyone know if DEC Unix will
support these long usernames?
The other question deals with passwords. Would it be possible to extract
encrypted passwords from the VMS UAF file and somehow convert that to a Unix
passwd file? I know this is a longshot, but it would save enormous amounts
of time in converting some 3000+ accounts from one OS to another.
