NFS problem with 3.2

Hi,
we just installed a Digital Unix 3.2 on 8 alphas 3000/500.
One of these is a file server exporting 4GB of disk space
managed under LVM.
When the machine boots everything works fine, but after a
couple of hours mountd and nfsd arrive at uninteruptable sleep
state and rpc.lockd, rpc.statd disappear. So NFS stops working.
The machine needs to be halted (shutdown does not work).
The load of the machine is very low and no problems with swap space.
We are running with 25 nfs daemons.
Does anybody have a clue to that problem?

Thanks in advance.
