Adobe Acrobat Reader...

I might be the last loyal DEC customer but..

Last evening I netted over to the Digital Storageworks web site
to get some ordering information. There seemed to be more emphasis
on Sun & HP support than on Digital which worried me initially.

Still more interesting was that most of the information I was
after was in PDF format.

Unfortunatly, none of my 10 Alpha Multias running Windows NT 3.5
seem to support any PDF reader. I tired to fetch one from Adobe
but they apparently do not support DEC hardware.

Alas, none of my 10 DEC 3000/400s running DU 3.2c have a PDF
reader.

As i see it...
none of my VAXstations will support PDF.
none of my Ultrix DECstations will support PDF.
My 2100 4/200 running DU 3.2c does not support PDF.
My 2000 4/200 running Windows NT 3.51 does not support PDF.
My AXP 150 running Windows NT 3.51 does not support PDF.

Am I to conclude that even Digital has given up on Digital and is
now providing resources biased towards non-Digital customers? Why
would anyone produce information that their current customers may
not be able to read?

I have OpenVMS AXP, OpenVMS VAX, Digital Unix, Windows NT and
Ultrix and I find myself in the embarasing situation of not being
able to read the published DEC literature.

Have I missed something fundamental here? Does everybody but me
have Adobe Acrobat running on these systems? Does/will Acrobat run
on any Digital processor?

It would also be interesting to know the exact process, software
and hardware, which produced the PDF documentation on the
Storageworks site and who they felt their target audience was/is.

As it is now I feel more and more like I've hitched my wagon to
the wrong horses.
