Seagate ST-12400 on Alpha

Last night I tried to install a Seagate ST12400 2G drive on my AlphaStation
200 4/233. It is running DU 3.2C. Everything I was doing was in single
user mode. I was trying to create a couple of ADVfs partitions, as well as
a couple of ufs partitions. The drive would hang every time I tried to do a
mkfset for the domain. I would get on the console a cam_scsi error. I will
be checking the error log soon as well as trying this disk on a DECstation
3100 to see it the same problems might manifest themselves. Might this be
an indication that I need to put something into the scsi_data.c, if that is
the right place, or do I need to do something else? I have never done an
entry for scsi_data.c so if someone would happen to have an example for this
type of drive, that would be appreciated. Any help or pointers on this are
also appreciated. Thanks.
