TZ877 tape capcity

Hi all,
we are running DU 3.2c & DEC NSR 3.1A to backup network clients to
TZ877 jubox tape. Let me briefly describe our 'tape story':

1) we started backing up Unix clients to NetWorker environment without
any problems. The reported tape capacity (from NetWorker) was 20-23GB

2) after one week our DEC CSC started to solve our problems with CAM SCSI
errors on the tape device. After downgrade/upgrade tape FW all works fine
(2 days already!)

3) we continue with backup (roughly the same data sets) now, but ... the
reported capacity is now 9.9-16GB per cartridge :-( (We have only the HW
compression turned on.)

So, I suppose, there is still something wrong with our device (or NSR
configuration). It is true or the tape capacity could change so drasticly
depends on data compression??

Thank you very much in advance for any help or suggestion!

Best regards,
        Lubos
