problems with ntalkd

We're having some problems with an Alpha 3000/600 running OSF.V3.0.
One of the problems is hundreds of ntalkd processes. I can get rid
of them by killing all of them with a simple script. But it should be
a different solution. Is there a known bug with the ntalkd?
