HI,
I am about to rename a running host called hosta to one called
hostb. The IP number will remain the same. So what are the
things I need to do to make this changeover as easy and painless
as possible ? I'm running Advfs as well as ufs file systems and
machine is LAT enabled for modems etc.

The checklist I have is as follows -

        1. As super user hostname newname

        2. Edit /etc/hosts file

        3. Edit /etc/rc.config

        4. cp /sys/conf/HOSTA /sys/conf/HOSTB

        5. doconfig -c HOSTB

        6. Copy new kernel over

        7. reboot

        8. Make changes in the primary DNS machine

Am I missing anything else ?

Thanks in advance
