Many thanks to Anthony D'Atri (aad_at_nwnet.net) and Mark Perlman
(mperlman_at_parsec.com). The answer here is to use version 3.3 of top
(available from
ftp://eecs.nwu.edu/pub/top. The 3.3 tar file includes a
decosf1 configuration file which works beautifully. I did have to specify no
flags in the configuration file question regarding C compiler flags rather
than the default -O flag before it would run without core dumping. It's
amazing how well this list works :-)
