port 135 ? Locater service?

Hi all,

Sort of a network related question on an alpha running netscape
commerce server.

We are seeing, about every 30 seconds a subnet broadcast coming
from this server at port 135 addressed to all nodes in the subnet.
(oops, is that a redundant statement? )

According to well known ports listing, 135 is "locater service". I
can't find anything about it. Anyone know what it is, or is used for?
Could something on this machine have been remapped so it is using this
port for something else?

I can't seem to find where it is coming from, it it is not in
inetd.conf... Help?

Thanks,
rich
