HI group
HELP I have a delema I need to have solved. Last night I was in the process
of booting our newly received DEC Alpha 2100 and when it was started up it
came to the its first console prompt. At that point a command was typed in
set console serial then init was entered. At that point I
lost complete control of my console. The console command sent the control to
the serial port ( com1). I tried to plug in a WYSE Terminal into COM1 using
a prime cable, then using a straight through cable and even a modem cable
but to no avail I couldn't get the terminal to respond. I called digital and
they gave me the correct baud rates and other settings needed to make the
WYSE terminal work and I even tried a lap top using PROCOM as a dumb
terminal and again the same results. I really believe its related to the
cable and the pin out settings and once I can get the right information I
can use the terminal to reset my system back to the console.
Does anyone know what the pin out settings are on the COM1 port on an
ALPHA 2100 box or anything else I can do to get my system console back.
