/dev/nmrt0h clobbered after upgrade

In the days of B.D.U. (Before Digital Unix 3.2c) my Alphastations
had a tape device file name of /dev/nrmt0h for the exabyte
tape drives that are installed on them. After the upgrade I find
that this device driver has disappeared. Any ideas on how to get it back?
